Mobiloil Pegasus, vintage enamel motoring shield sign
Circa 1950s/60s sign in an uncleaned and as found condition
Believed to be an original Mobiloil 1950/1960 sign. It bears the number 453 at the base, we assumed that this may have been either a production date i.e. April 1953 or a catalogue number. Our research led us to H&H (Classic Car) Auctions who sold an (lot 51, 6th December 2011) identical sign bearing the number 733. We now believe that 453 is a production sequence number, so this sign is number 453 in the production batch.
